WhatsApp reaches 200 million monthly active users in India


Facebook-owned WhatsApp that has revolutionized the way people exchanged messages, boasts over 200 million monthly active users in India.

Brian Acton, the co-founder of WhatsApp, along with Neeraj Arora, Head of Business, WhatsApp, on Friday visited Indian Institute of Technology - Delhi to interact with the students.. 

The discussion focused on the ways WhatsApp can contribute to India as it is invested in building a service with high utility for millions of Indians, the company said in a statement.


WhatsApp has been rolling out updates and features to make the app more secure for its users.

The new "Status" feature lets users share photos, GIFs or videos overlaid with drawings, emoji's and a caption that will be visible to selected friends for 24 hours, before disappearing.

Users can also see who has viewed their Status update by tapping the eye icon at the bottom of any Status update. The new feature is now available to all users across the globe on iPhone, Android and Windows devices.

Jio will continue to offer free voice calls and national roaming post April 1

Jio will start charging customers from April 1 , but will offer sharply discounted prices for a year to those who sign up by the end of March under its Prime offer, Reliance Industries chairman and managing director Mukesh Ambani said today. The Prime offer will open for enrolment on March 1 and close on March 31 , Mr Ambani said. Under Jio's Happy New Year offer, customers currently enjoy free data and voice services till March 31, 2017. To enrol for the Prime offer, under which customers will continue to get unlimited benefits, existing and new subscribers of Jio (till March 31, 2017) will have to pay a one-time fee of Rs. 99 . Nokia 6 goes global, Nokia 5 and 3 also announced

Nokia is back! HMD -ran Nokia brand is making a big showing at MWC 2017 . In addition to the retro reboot Nokia 3310 , HMD Global is also showing off the new Nokia 3  and Nokia 5 , as well as globally launching the Nokia 6 . Nokia 6  The Nokia 6 first arrived to China exclusively earlier this year, but now Nokia has announced plans to make this model available globally.
