Lenovo launches e-SIM laptops to keep business travelers connected internationally

At the 2017 Mobile World Congress(MWC) in Barcelona , Lenovo announced the Connect e-SIM enhancement, which could help international business travelers stay connected without swapping SIM cards or paying for expensive roaming plans. "Lenovo Connect gives users a seamless connection and local wireless pricing even when they are abroad by taking advantage of local Telco contract for data," a Lenovo press release said. " Users can even share the same plan across devices when those devices are enabled with Lenovo Connect . Digital Payments Industry To Hit $500 Billion By 2020 In India

Digital payments industry in India is expected to reach $500 billion by 2020 , with over 50 percent of internet users in the country will be using it, according to a latest report by global telecom body GSM Association and Boston Consulting Group . " BCG projects that more than 50 percent of India’s Internet users will use digital payments by 2020. Bharti Airtel buys Telenor's India operations

Telenor ASA has on 23 February 2017 entered into a definitive agreement with Bharti Airtel Limited (Airtel), whereby Airtel will take full ownership of Telenor India. The move forced rivals -- desperate to maintain market share -- to slash their tariffs and scrambling to match the deep pockets of Jio, which is backed by Ambani's vast energy-to-chemicals conglomerate Reliance Industries . " The proposed acquisition will include transfer of all of Telenor India's assets and customers, further augmenting Airtel's overall base and network, " the Indian firm said in the statement. Jio will continue to offer free voice calls and national roaming post April 1

Jio will start charging customers from April 1 , but will offer sharply discounted prices for a year to those who sign up by the end of March under its Prime offer, Reliance Industries chairman and managing director Mukesh Ambani said today. The Prime offer will open for enrolment on March 1 and close on March 31 , Mr Ambani said. Under Jio's Happy New Year offer, customers currently enjoy free data and voice services till March 31, 2017. To enrol for the Prime offer, under which customers will continue to get unlimited benefits, existing and new subscribers of Jio (till March 31, 2017) will have to pay a one-time fee of Rs. 99 .
