Google will release a Pixel 2 smartphone this year

Google is keeping information to a premium, its typical development cycle suggests a Pixel 2 will go on sale in the fourth quarter. The current Pixel launched in October 2016 and Google has held launch events at around the same time for Nexus phones in the past.
Google's head of hardware Rick Osterloh talked about the Pixel and its future. The former Motorola exec revealed that Google has some sort of problem with Pixel and Pixel XL manufacturing right now. There are too few devices to meet demand, and some kind of supply bottleneck preventing the company it from fixing it. It's unclear what exactly is causing these manufacturing issues.
As for the Pixel 2, Osterloh would not confirm a release date, but he did imply the next phone should arrive a year after its predecessor.
"There is an annual rhythm in the industry. So, you can count on us to follow it," the Google executive Osterloh told at Mobile World Congress. "You can count on a successor this year, even if you don't hear a date from me now." In response to questions regarding a low cost Pixel, the Google executive simply told reporters: "the Pixel stays premium."
The latest rumours indicate that the successor to the Pixel will come with key improvements in major areas such as the processor and camera, and will remain a premium device.
The Pixel 2 is expected to come with a glass back panel with chamfered edges, centre-aligned camera module and a fingerprint sensor.
Earlier this week, Osterloh indicated that while the Pixel brand remained reserved for its handsets, it may not make any more of high-end Pixel Chromebooks. Google's hardware chief quickly moved to reassure consumers that "Google's own Chromebooks aren't dead" but the statement still leaves things in the air. Google may still continue to make its own Chromebooks, but they might be released under a new name.

Microsoft this month reaffirmed that it will issue two Windows 10 upgrades this year, twice the number of 2016 but still shy of the firm's original target. In a presentation 11 days ago at a Microsoft technical conference held in Australia , Bill Karagounis, a director of program management, pointed to a follow-on upgrade that will appear sometime after the Creators Update , which is expected to finalize and ship next month . A slide Karagounis showed during the session -- which was webcast from Microsoft's Channel 9 website included another upgrade this year after Creators as you can see it in below image.
